In the Scripture for this teaching, we read where Jesus went around preaching and teaching and healing and driving out demons. But obedience and baptism and testing came first for Jesus. Jesus obediently submitted to a baptism of repentance, though He had no need of such. Jesus obediently submitted to a trial or testing in the desert, though He was without sin. Dare we refuse to walk the same course?

Repentance, and perhaps testing, and certainly obedience, comes before preaching and teaching and healing and driving out demons. Repentance has a way of “boxing out the compass”. Do you know what that phrase means?
